1km in the pool tonight with @claredavies_dash . • 400m non-stop - 200 cool down - 400m non-stop. • Pretty pleased as I really want to join @redfaced_runner for an open water swim but I needed to be sure I could cover the shortest distance (400m) without stopping - I did it, twice and probably could’ve gone further. • Lovely to see Becca tonight - out smashing it & doing crazy distances again. • Next up is an open water swim with only 3 and a bit weeks to go until the #openwaterswimathon @swimathon_uk . . . . . . . . #swim #swimming #swimathon #kilometreswim #olympicpool #openwaterswimathon

Run attempt No.2 successful!. • Loved that this morning. Wimbledon Common MABAC. • Second year running for my club at our home event. Last year I tail walked and managed to stack it, this year I stayed on two feet. • Gentle run down to the rugby club and tonight’s plan was to chill and keep an even pace throughout (kind of managed it). • Well that went out the window at 2k when I started dragging my team mate back in - we’ve had some great races in the past, most notably during the Cooper Test on the track. • Over the bridge and onto the rugby field and we were on, I pulled level by the final turn and....”why is the bloody finish uphill, why????”. Picked the knees up and pushed on, yeah I crossed the line first. • Made for quite an exciting run tonight, no secret but I loved it!! Mentally unprepared. • Yeah, I didn’t even get 1 minute down the road. I messed up, plan is below but I left the house too late to even put 2miles in before parkrun and it messed with my head. I got to the corner and the chimp won - even when Eye of the Tiger comes on your playlist and that doesn’t get you moving you know it’s not going to happen. • I’ve been building to this all week, first run over 10k since London training cycle. 4-6mile @ Marathon pace, Parkrun @ Tempo & MP to Home to make 10miles. • I started off negatively before I’d even left the house - my head wasn’t in the right place and I was telling myself I’m an idiot for not leaving earlier, you’re not going to do the miles after parkrun, your Achilles hurts etc etc etc. I need to work on that... • It scares me that I haven’t had an episode like this since I was training for Berlin and that was horrible training cycle with missed runs left, right and centre. London was tons better, I’d done 19miles 6wks ahead of the race and hadn’t missed a long run. One hot, sweaty mess ✅. • I was going to the @virginactiveuk gym to do my own Strength session today but managed to arrive just in time to join @hanhdfitness strength HIIT session - skill-mill, assault bike and all (love the assault bike) and thought why on earth not. • Thanks to crazy girl who offered to do burpees instead of assault bike for me & found me after class. • Tuesday owned, I’m supposed to run 10k tomorrow but no idea how I’m going to fit that in when I’ve got Golf after work. • Looking forward to Thursdays session - finally given in to @natvoyle pestering 😘 and joining her for a Strength class at @ministryofsoundfitness - it’s been a while!!. . . . . . . . . . . #HIIT #strength #strengthtraining FitQuote #FitnessMotivation #Fitspo #GetFit #GoalSetting #YouCanDoIt #FitnessGoals #TrainHard #NoExcuses #Hardworkdedication #GymMotivation #Betterforit #Findyourstrong

You find motivation in the strangest places. • 🏃🏻‍♂️ Treadmill Intervals - 30min (1min on/1min off). 🚲 40min Spin Class. 🚣‍♀️ 1000metre Row finisher (new PB: 4:02.7, could’ve paced it better & been sub-4). • The intervals hurt from the first set and I pushed the upper limit of what I’m capable of, but didn’t turn it down once and switched it up an extra few kph for a double sprint at the end. • What got me through it?, thinking of the @asicsfrontrunner team. They might annoy the heck out of me sometimes but they also inspire me to be the best I can be. 7 of the top 10 at Parkrun Saturday were from the team. I kept thinking to myself if I want to be up there with them I need to work hard and not throw in the towel when things get hard.
